Anthony Bonner
Board Member

Championing Community, Healing, and Leadership in Memphis

Anthony Bonner is a dedicated leader and visionary whose work uplifts communities and inspires change throughout Memphis and beyond. Known    for his passionate advocacy, Anthony serves on the National SNAP Benefits Parent Advisory Council for Share Our Strength and NO KID HUNGRY, helping shape national conversations around food security and family well-being. His multifaceted career and profound commitment to empowering others have made him a respected figure in both local and national spheres.

Anthony’s journey is marked by diverse roles that reflect his deep-rooted devotion to service and leadership. A master barber by trade, he has used his craft not only as a profession but as a conduit for building trust and fostering connection within his community. His expertise extends to his role as a Memphis Power Fellow, where he engaged with transformative projects aimed at amplifying voices and addressing systemic challenges in Memphis.

As an alum of The Change Collective, Anthony honed his skills in community engagement and social innovation, further equipping himself to drive meaningful progress. In his current position as Community Organizer for Memphis For All, he mobilizes efforts to unite residents, advocate for equity, and catalyze positive change across the city.

Anthony’s impact is most powerfully felt in his visionary work creating healing spaces for Black men in Memphis. Recognizing the unique challenges faced by Black men, he has spearheaded initiatives focused on nurturing mental health, fostering resilience, and strengthening support networks. His leadership has helped redefine what it means to be a safe and empowering presence for men in his community.

Through his hands-on approach and empathetic leadership, Anthony has transformed barbershops and other community spaces into sanctuaries for open dialogue, healing, and mutual support. These efforts have contributed to the revitalization of community bonds and have empowered countless individuals to seek growth and healing.

Anthony’s advocacy reaches beyond immediate community needs, encompassing a bold vision for the future of Black fatherhood and family structures in Memphis. He is deeply committed to rebuilding family foundations, elevating fathers as vital leaders, and promoting holistic well-being for men and their families. His initiatives foreground mental health, encouraging men to embrace vulnerability, seek support, and lead with compassion.

Driven by a belief in the transformative power of collective action, Anthony continues to challenge barriers, foster unity, and drive progress on issues that matter most to Memphis’s Black men and families.

Tanya E. Ragland

Entrepreneur, Community Leader, & Advocate

Tanya E. Ragland is an accomplished entrepreneur, dedicated community leader, published child author, and a passionate advocate for early childhood development. Her unwavering commitment to empowering families shines through her work in both educational and culinary ventures.

As the owner of Small Steps Childcare and Preschool, INC., Tanya has created a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where young children can learn, grow, and flourish. She believes in the power of early education to lay a strong foundation for lifelong success.

In addition to her work in education, Tanya is the founder of TruLee Delightful Eats, LLC—a brand known for its bold, Southern-inspired seasonings and sauces. Crafted with love and a dedication to quality, her products bring families together around the table and celebrate the joy of flavorful cooking.

Tanya’s greatest joy is being a devoted mother to her cherished son, who inspires her every day. Driven by purpose and a desire to make a positive impact, Tanya continues to uplift her community through education, service, and a sprinkle of Southern flavor, one step and one sprinkle at a time.

David Young Board Member 

A Lifelong Servant Leader of Memphis 

Pastor David Young stands as a pillar of the Memphis community, devoted both to his faith and to the well-being of those around him. Born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, Pastor Young’s roots run deep in the city he has called home his entire life. His journey is marked by unwavering commitment to his family, his church, and the broader community.

For nineteen years, Pastor Young has shared a loving marriage with Toya Adams Young. Together, they have built a strong foundation for their family, raising three children with love, guidance, and faith. Pastor Young’s life is grounded in family values, and he is known for being a dedicated husband and father. The warmth and support that characterize his home life extend into his relationships with others, reflecting his sincere care and compassion.

Pastor Young’s calling to ministry began in 2009. Since then, he has faithfully served in a variety of leadership roles, including youth pastor and pastor of multiple congregations. For the past five years, he has served as co-pastor at the Healing Center in Memphis, where his leadership and spiritual guidance have touched many lives. Pastor Young’s ministry is defined by a deep commitment to nurturing faith, fostering growth, and supporting individuals as they navigate life’s challenges.

Beyond the pulpit, Pastor Young is dedicated to education and family development. He holds the position of Master Father Education Trainer with Families Matter, helping fathers strengthen their relationships and build healthy family dynamics. Pastor Young has served with Memphis Shelby County Schools as a behavioral therapist, family specialist, and behavioral counselor. His work in these roles underscores his passion for empowering youth and families through education, counseling, and support.

Pastor David Young’s influence extends far beyond church walls. His commitment to service is evident in every aspect of his life—from his ministry to his professional work in education and counseling. Pastor Young is recognized for his dedication, integrity, and compassionate leadership. Through his many roles, he continues to inspire and uplift the Memphis community, leaving a lasting legacy of faith, service, and hope.

Cheryl Sudduth 
Board Member 

Entrepreneur, Community Leader, & Advocate

Cheryl Sudduth is a native and lifelong resident of Memphis, whose commitment to her community is evident in both her professional and personal endeavors. As a devoted mother of two, she balances family responsibilities with notable entrepreneurial achievements, serving as CEO of ASAP Bail Bonding Company and owning Gray Construction Company. Cheryl is also recognized for her philanthropic leadership, having founded PTP Pathway to Progress to support local initiatives. Her dedication to service includes her tenure as a former member of the National Board of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) and previous involvement in the Boston Red Sox outreach ministry, further demonstrating her passion for making a positive impact.

Elton Banks Sr.
Board Member

Championing Community, Healing, and Leadership in Memphis

Elton Banks Sr. is a lifelong Memphian who grew up in the vibrant New Chicago community. He and his wife, high school sweethearts, met at Manassas High School and have been together since 1987. Together, they have raised two sons: Dr. Elton Banks Jr. and Coleman Banks.

Elton has enjoyed a successful career in business and is the proud owner of Banks Investments. Over the years, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to his hometown by volunteering and supporting charitable organizations throughout Memphis. His dedication to helping those in need highlights his passion for giving back and uplifting his community.

Michelle Walton
Board Member

A Lifelong Memphian Committed to Community

Michelle Walton is a proud lifelong resident of Memphis, whose passion for her city is evident in every aspect of her life. As a dedicated community activist, Michelle has spent years working to uplift her neighbors and create lasting positive change throughout the area she calls home.

Beyond her activism, Michelle's greatest joy comes from being a devoted mother. She has always placed her family at the heart of her endeavors, balancing her commitment to both her children and her community with grace and determination.

Michelle enjoyed a remarkable 30-year career as a cosmetologist, where she not only honed her craft but also built lasting relationships with her clients and mentored many aspiring professionals in the beauty industry. Now retired from cosmetology, Michelle continues to channel her entrepreneurial spirit as an independent contractor. Her drive and business acumen have allowed her to explore new ventures and set an inspiring example for others pursuing their own dreams.

Through her unwavering dedication to her family, her city, and her professional pursuits, Michelle Walton embodies the spirit of Memphis—resilient, compassionate, and always striving to make a difference.

Vanesa Bam Turner
Vice Chair

Dedicated Mother, Political Leader, and Community Activist

Vanesa Bam Turner is a proud native Memphian whose deep roots in the city have shaped her lifelong commitment to civic engagement and local progress. As a devoted mother, Vanesa balances her family responsibilities with launching a career as the owner of B Poll Management, a respected political voter poll management company serving political candidates of the Memphis and Shelby County area.

With over a decade of hands-on experience in local politics, Vanesa has developed a reputation for expertise and integrity in the political arena. Her company, B Poll Management, provides essential voter polling services to campaigns helping to ensure fair and equitable representation of the candidates she represents.

Vanesa is widely known and respected throughout Memphis and Shelby County for her unwavering dedication to community advocacy. She is a passionate champion of voter rights and voter registration, often volunteering her time to educate and empower citizens. Vanesa’s work has helped increase voter turnout and awareness, strengthening the democratic process at the grassroots level.

As a leader, activist, and mother, Vanesa Bam Turner’s legacy is defined by her tireless commitment to her fellow man and her belief in the power of every voice. Cliff Stockton Jr. 
Board Chairman

Community Leader, Strategist, and Advocate. 

Clifford Stockton Jr. is a dedicated champion for North Memphis, serving as Chairman of the Board for the North Memphis Community Alliance CDC. In this role, he is instrumental in spearheading economic development, driving community revitalization, and forging strategic partnerships designed to uplift and empower the neighborhoods of North Memphis.

In addition to his leadership at the NMCA, CDC, Stockton is a seasoned political strategist and CEO of Stockton Strategic Services. His expertise lies in civic engagement, policy development, and grassroots organizing, where he provides critical guidance to clients seeking to make a meaningful impact in both local and communities at large. 

Clifford Stockton Jr. is also known for his deep faith and commitment to family. He is a devoted father of six and a lover of God, values that have been central to his work and life. His previous experience as pastor of Circle of Faith Christian Church in Memphis, Tennessee, further exemplifies his dedication to spiritual leadership and community service.

Stockton’s leadership style uniquely bridges faith, community, and public policy. Under his stewardship, the North Memphis Community Alliance currently leads key initiatives focused on economic development, community empowerment, and serving as a political liaison with city and state government. These efforts are aimed at advocating for sustainable solutions that strengthen neighborhoods and enhance the overall quality of life for residents.

Whether in the boardroom, on the campaign trail, or within the church, Clifford Stockton Jr. continues to be a driving force for positive change in North Memphis—building connections, advancing opportunities, and inspiring others to join in the work of community transformation.

Oscar D. Love Jr.
Executive Director

Committed Leader, Entrepreneur, & Lifelong Memphian

Oscar D. Love Jr. serves as the executive director of the North Memphis Community Alliance, CDC, where he leads initiatives dedicated to strengthening and empowering the North Memphis community. A lifelong resident of Memphis, Tennessee, Oscar’s enduring connection to his hometown has deeply influenced his approach to both leadership and service.

Oscar and his wife, Miyosha Williams-Love, have shared over 30 years of marriage, building a strong family foundation and nurturing three children together. Their long-standing commitment to each other and their family reflects Oscar’s values of dedication, perseverance, and community, qualities that he brings to both his personal and professional endeavors.

With more than 32 years of experience in business and sales, Oscar is a seasoned entrepreneur and respected business professional. His expertise spans the insurance, finance, marketing, and sales sectors, where he has consistently demonstrated innovation, strategic thinking, and a passion for helping others succeed. Oscar’s entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to excellence have driven his success across a variety of ventures.

Oscar’s extensive managerial background includes eleven years as a general manager, where he gained invaluable experience in team leadership, operational management, and organizational development. His hands-on approach and ability to inspire those around him have been instrumental in building effective teams and driving positive change within the organizations he has served.
